A recent photography shoot, with the brilliant Charlestown Adelphi Netball Club, was one that’s especially close to home as my daughter plays there. The shoot involved multiple age groups, with the goal of creating professional team photos while also capturing the energy, camaraderie and personality that define the club
As a sports photographer, I believe a successful team photoshoot goes beyond the traditional line-up. While formal team photos are essential, the most powerful images come from moments of connection — teammates laughing together, supporting each other, and enjoying the experience. A key part of my approach is creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. I work collaboratively with players, using simple choreography and movement so they feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. When players enjoy the process, it shows in the final images.
